When using Rubber Seals, we may notice that the product has dimensional tolerance. So, how to calculate the dimension tolerance?

Rubber seals have a high tolerance class and should only be used when required in the application. They should be limited to dimensions considered critical. The higher the accuracy used, the more stringent all the controls that must be performed in the manufacturing process, and therefore the higher the cost. When products require certain special properties, the use of compounds that can be molded with tight tolerances may not always provide these properties. In this case, the parties concerned should consult. In general, lower hardness vulcanizates require a greater tolerance than higher hardness vulcanizates. The dimensional tolerance levels and tolerance values are specified for compact rubber products compacted, extruded and rolled, and the corresponding test methods required to determine compliance with the standards are also specified. This standard does not apply to calendered composite products, such as precision ring seals or tapes, or products coated with rubber by silicone method.
